Linear and Non-Linear Modelling of Bromate Formation during Ozonation of Surface Water in Drinking Water Production

چکیده

Bromate formation is a complex process that depends on the properties of water and ozone used. Due to fluctuations in quality, surface waters require major adjustments treatment process. In this work, we investigated how time year, dose duration, ammonium affect bromides, bromates, absorbance at 254 nm (UV254), near-infrared (NIR) spectra, fluorescent components (humic-like tyrosine-like) during ozonation. Linear non-linear models were used determine predict relationships between input output variables. Season, ozonation correlated with variables, while affected only bromates. All coefficients determination (R2) for multiple linear regression >0.64, R2 piecewise was >0.89. The season had no effect bromate either model, bromides Three variables influenced UV254 both models. artificial neural network (ANN) model season, time, ammonium, NIR spectra an effective way describe results. multilayer perception 14-14-5 lowest errors best ANN values training, testing, validation 0.9916, 0.9826, 0.9732, respectively.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Assessing empirical linear and non-linear modelling of residual chlorine in urban drinking water systems

To evaluate the performance of chlorine disinfection in drinking water plants, managers use as an indicator the concentrations of residual chlorine within the distribution system. Because of the residence time of water in storage tanks and in distribution pipelines, data that reflect residual chlorine concentrations for a given applied dose are only available after a certain time delay. Consequ...

non-linear study of various slit shear walls in steel structures

seismic retrofit strategies have been developed in the past few decades following the introduction of new seismic provisions and the availability of advanced materials and methods. it can be observed that new approaches to deal with more lateral forces are more innovative and more energy absorbent. in line with this, there is a growing trend toward the use of steel shear walls as a system with ...

Pathway fraction of bromate formation during O₃ and O₃/H₂O₂ processes in drinking water treatment.

Ozone process has been widely used for drinking water treatment recently. In the oxidation process, bromate is formed by three pathways, i.e., the direct pathway, the direct-indirect pathway and the indirect-direct pathway. This study developed a method to calculate the percentage of these three pathways for bromate formation during O3 process and O3/H2O2 process. Two kinds of water, distilled ...
